There has been a vast outcry for the underpaid workers in Windhoek. Many of whom live in the informal settlements at the outskirt s of Windhoek. They then walk to the city center in the morning hours before sunrise to make it to work on time. Additionally, they then have to walk in cold weather conditions in the winter, with little to no winter gear. It is from which the hot chocolate initiative was born, looking to feed those walking to work and hand them a warm cup of hot chocolate to endure the journey to work. It was held and hosted in 2015, near the Monte Cristo service station.
